Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy was last updated on 30 October 2026 and applies to citizens and legal permanent residents of all regions visiting our website.
This Cookie Policy explains how Hoopsy Ltd (“Company”, “we”, “us” and “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you visit our website at https://hoopsy.com (“Website”). It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.
In some cases we may use cookies to collect personal information, or information that becomes personal information if we combine it with other information.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners to make their websites work, to work more efficiently, and to provide reporting information.
Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, Hoopsy Ltd) are called “first-party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third-party cookies”. Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality on or through the website (for example advertising, interactive content and analytics). The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website in question and when it visits certain other websites.
Cookies are not the only way to recognize or track visitors. We may use similar technologies from time to time, like web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”) – tiny graphics files with a unique identifier that let us recognize when someone has visited our Website or opened an email including them. In many instances these technologies rely on cookies to function properly, so declining cookies will impair their functioning.
2. Why do we use cookies?
We use first- and third-party cookies for several reasons:
- Technical or functional cookies. Some cookies are required for technical reasons for our Website to operate – for example keeping items in your shopping cart until you have paid. We refer to these as “essential” or “strictly necessary” cookies. We may place these without your consent.
- Statistics cookies. These collect information, in aggregate form, that helps us understand how our Website is being used, so we can optimize the website experience. We ask your permission to place statistics cookies.
- Marketing/tracking cookies. These are used to make advertising messages more relevant to you – for example measuring visits that come from our Facebook and Instagram ads. We ask your permission to place these cookies.
Third parties serve cookies through our Website for advertising, analytics and other purposes, as described below. The specific cookies served may vary depending on the pages you visit.
Our website links to our social media profiles (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and TikTok). These are simple outbound links; no social media content is embedded on the website, so those services do not place cookies through our site.
3. Which cookies we use
Cookie names, lifespans and purposes below come from the providers’ own documentation, from cookies observed on the live site (30 October 2026, homepage and shop page), or from an independent cookie scan run on 30 October 2026 (marked “scan”).
WordPress (functional)
Purpose: core website functions, and admin preferences for logged-in accounts. This data is not shared with third parties.
- wordpress_test_cookie – session – set on the login page to check whether cookies can be placed
- wordpress_logged_in_[hash] – login session – keeps logged-in users logged in
- wp-settings-[UID] and wp-settings-time-[UID] – persistent – admin view preferences; only set for logged-in accounts, not for regular visitors
WooCommerce (functional)
Purpose: shopping cart and checkout. This data is not shared with third parties.
- woocommerce_cart_hash – session – helps WooCommerce detect when the cart contents change
- woocommerce_items_in_cart – session – helps WooCommerce detect when the cart contents change
- wp_woocommerce_session_ – 2 days – a unique code per customer, so the cart can be found in the database
- woocommerce_recently_viewed – session – powers the Recently Viewed Products widget
- store_notice[notice id] – session – lets customers dismiss the store notice, if enabled
WooCommerce’s cart fragments also use your browser’s local storage (keys like wc_cart_hash_* and wc_fragments_*). That is browser storage, not a cookie.
Also observed on the live storefront (30 October 2026) but not in the official cookie documentation above:
- sbjs_migrations, sbjs_first, sbjs_first_add, sbjs_current, sbjs_current_add, sbjs_udata, sbjs_session – WooCommerce’s order-attribution feature, recording how a visitor arrived at the shop
- _wcml_dashboard_currency – currency preference, set by WPML Multilingual & Multicurrency for WooCommerce
- tk_ai – a randomly generated anonymous ID for usage tracking by an Automattic service
- uncode_privacy[consent_types] – stores consent preferences
Stripe (functional)
Purpose: payment processing at checkout (WooCommerce Stripe Gateway). These are set when Stripe’s payment scripts load, on checkout and payment pages.
- __stripe_mid – 1 year – fraud prevention and transaction risk assessment
- __stripe_sid – 30 minutes – fraud prevention and transaction risk assessment
PayPal (functional)
Purpose: payment processing at checkout (WooCommerce PayPal Payments). When you choose PayPal, scripts from paypal.com set cookies needed to operate the checkout and prevent fraud. See PayPal’s Statement on Cookies and Tracking Technologies (https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/cookie-full) for details.
Google Fonts (functional)
Purpose: display of webfonts (loaded by the site’s theme from fonts.googleapis.com). No cookies from this service were observed on checked pages. Loading the fonts sends a request to Google’s servers, which includes the visitor’s IP address.
Google Analytics (statistics)
Purpose: website statistics, provided through the “Google Analytics for WooCommerce” plugin. Source: Google’s GA4 cookie documentation.
- _ga – 2 years – distinguishes users
- ga[container ID] – 2 years – persists session state
Microsoft Clarity (statistics)
Purpose: usage analytics and session recordings (Microsoft Clarity plugin). Source: Microsoft’s Clarity cookie list.
- _clck – first-party – persists the Clarity user ID and preferences, unique to this site
- _clsk – first-party – connects a user’s page views into a single session recording
- CLID – third-party (Microsoft) – identifies the first time Clarity saw this user on any site using Clarity
- MUID – third-party (Microsoft) – identifies unique web browsers visiting Microsoft sites; used for advertising, site analytics and other operational purposes
- ANONCHK, MR (on both bing.com and clarity.ms), SM – third-party (Microsoft) – support the MUID advertising identifier
- SRM_B – third-party (Microsoft Bing) – ad tracking and optimization (scan)
Facebook / Meta pixel (marketing/tracking)
Purpose: measuring advertising and visits from Facebook and Instagram. The Meta pixel script loads on our pages; its cookies are set when the pixel runs with marketing permission:
- _fbp – identifies the browser for visit attribution
- _fbc – stores the click identifier after arriving via a Facebook or Instagram ad
Flodesk (functional)
Purpose: email signup forms. The scan found __cf_bm, set by Cloudflare on Flodesk’s domain (.flodesk.com) when Flodesk’s form scripts load – bot protection, 30 minutes (scan).
4. How can I control cookies?
When you visit our website for the first time, we show you a banner with an explanation about cookies. As soon as you click “Accept”, you consent to us using statistics and marketing cookies as described in this Cookie Policy. If you click “Decline”, only functional cookies that keep the shop working will be placed. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie settings option provided by the consent banner.
Your choices are saved in the browser you used to make them, and apply to that browser on that device only. We ask for your choices again when you visit from a different device or browser, when you use a private or incognito window, or when you clear your cookies or browser data.
You can also use your internet browser to delete cookies automatically or manually, to block certain cookies, or to receive a message each time a cookie is placed. See the Help section of your browser for instructions. If you disable functional cookies, parts of the website that need them – for example the basket and checkout – will not work.
In addition, most advertising networks offer a way to opt out of targeted advertising: the Digital Advertising Alliance, the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada, and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance.
5. Targeted advertising
Third parties may serve cookies on your computer or mobile device to serve advertising through our Website. These companies may use information about your visits to this and other websites to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services you may be interested in, and to measure advertising effectiveness. The information collected through this process does not enable us or them to identify your name, contact details or other details that directly identify you unless you choose to provide these.
6. Your rights with respect to personal data
You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- You have the right to know why your personal data is needed, what will happen to it, and how long it will be retained for.
- Right of access: you have the right to access your personal data that is known to us.
- Right to rectification: you have the right to supplement, correct, have deleted or blocked your personal data whenever you wish.
- If you give us your consent to process your data, you have the right to revoke that consent and to have your personal data deleted.
- Right to transfer your data: you have the right to request all your personal data from the controller and transfer it in its entirety to another controller.
- Right to object: you may object to the processing of your data. We comply with this, unless there are justified grounds for processing.
To exercise these rights, please contact us using the details in section 7.
If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, we would like to hear from you, but you also have the right to submit a complaint to the supervisory authority (the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)).
