How long will it take to get pregnant? This is something that crosses every woman's mind when they start trying. We all hope, think that we could be in that unicorn magical number that we sneeze and it happens, but unfortunately for many of us that isn't the case. As for giving each woman a number of months is impossible, it varies from person to person depending on sooo many factors like
If you are like me, you hate waiting.
You think, why can't I just get pregnant the first time? How hard can it be? Unfortunately, science on women's bodies and health has not managed to work out why some women can get pregnant quickly and others take longer; we just don't know.
One of the things to do while waiting is to try not to dwell on it too much. I KNOW that is much easier said than done, and you are probably reading this cursing thinking what the - that is not helpful. Have you noticed how time passes much quicker if you are busy? This is the same, try and use this waiting time to do some projects, catch up with friends, go for a walk, read, take that yoga class you have been meaning to do. One thing that is guaranteed in the waiting period is my Fertility Snail Mail club, a monthly letter that is guaranteed to come to you every month, giving you ideas, suggestions, positivity, a gift, and a BIG HUG. Look for things that you can control, and use them to get through this waiting period.

It takes 6 Months?
Yep, it sounds like forever. Why can't it just happen the first time? Maybe it will, but it depends on timing. If you are tracking your ovulation and having sex when you are most fertile the chances are it will happen more quickly. But before you even start trying you need to get your egg and your partner's (or donor) sperm up to scratch. Experts say that three months before you start trying you should improve your health and lifestyle. That means- Exercising
- Reduce plastic from your diet, that is avoid plastic water bottles, containers, cans, take away food containers, and more - The plastic Coalition have put together a free healthly pregnancy guide to help you navigate this
- Maybe lose weight, unfortunately research shows us that the chance of getting pregnant is higher if you are in a normal BMI range - that is for both men and women
- Eating healthily
- Drinking less alcohol
