2025 was… a lot (in the best way) for Hoopsy. It didn’t really believe in doing things slowly. Somewhere along the way, we looked up, took a breath, and realised just how much actually happened. Here’s a snapshot of what Hoopsy got up to:
- Completed the Carbon13 Accelerator Programme and secured £200,000 in investment!
- Accepted into the Roux Future of Healthcare Found Residency Program with an investment of $50,000!
- Lara moved to America in April 2025!
- Started development on 100% plastic-free tests – hit a few bumps as the guy we were working with in Bangladesh didn’t complete that, and we had to switch to another company to get it completed. Work is still ongoing.
- Lara hired an FDA team to help bring Hoopsy’s pregnancy test to the US market. We have just submitted a pre-submission to the FDA and will meet with them in February to discuss the next steps.
- Met with three US hospital systems and Planned Parenthood, all interested in taking the eco pregnancy test once we’re approved.
- Met with the head of sustainability for CVS.
- Added experienced advisers to the board across the FDA, procurement and medical to help guide us through the US market.
- Welcomed three volunteers to work with Hoopsy on social media, admin and blog writing.
- Launched a $1.5 million fundraiser for Hoopsy – still in progress…
- Pitched at least 66 times to potential investors – possibly more, we lost count…
- Received an FDA small business concession!
- Lara became a finalist in the Gimme Beauty Gimme Gives Back competition, which led to her winning $5500 in pitch competition prize money for Hoopsy!
- Appeared on four podcasts.
- Saw Hoopsy on a billboard in Times Square! (still feels unreal)
- Lara was named one of Startup Magazine’s most influential women in startups in 2025!
- Filed a patent.
- Registered the Hoopsy test design in the UK.
- Refreshed our brand – new green logo, updated website and a full relaunch 🙂
- Filed new Hoopsy logo trademarks in both the UK and the US.
- Built the Hoopsy Line Eyes app.
2025 was amazing, but we’re even more excited for what’s next at Hoopsy.
