When things are given away for free people often have questions, so I’ve made a list and put the answers to hopefully clear things up. If you have any extra questions surrounding our free pregnancy test giveaway, please get in touch 🙂
What Does Expire Mean?
When we first created the tests, we had to check they worked, were accurate, etc, over a period of time, in our case, 3 years. Then we get CE regulatory approval (which we need to sell them) for that time period. So after the expiry date, we can no longer sell them. However, the expiry date means that they have not been tested to work after that date, but it does not mean that they don’t work – does that make sense?
Why Are The Tests £1 Each? You Said They Were Free
Yesterday I did have the packs up at £0 each, but then someone ordered 5 packs and only paid £4.50 for postage and packing, which meant that it actually cost me £8.50 to send it out (£1 per pack for the fulfilment place to put the product in an envelope and £3.50 to post it). You might think it’s only £4 extra, but say this happens with 100 packs, that is £100, and we are a small company and just cannot afford to spend that. This is as FREE as I can make them 🙂
Why Don’t You Donate Them To Charity?
I have tried and have donated around 5000 single tests to charity, but I still have some leftover, and I am aware that time is ticking.
What About Giving Them To Hospitals And Doctors?
Yep, good suggestion, and I have also done that. But it is exceptionally time-consuming to contact individual hospitals and doctors’ surgeries, and then, for some, there has been bureaucratic pushback (mad, I know). However, if you are reading this and you work in a hospital or surgery and would like 1 box or more (that is 80 packs, 3 tests per pack, a total of 240 tests) sent to you, I am more than happy to do that. Just get in touch.
How Long Will You Have Free Pregnancy Test Packs?
As long as they last. It is hard to say, and I am still getting requests from doctors as well, so once they are gone, I will update the website. It will most likely last at least a few weeks.
